What Type Of Vinyl Flooring Is Going To Be Best For You?

Here are a few tips to ensure you pick the best Vinyl for your home:

  1. Wear Layer = Indicator Of Quality
All Vinyl plank flooring comes in a variety of thickness, from 1mm to 15mm. This measurement is largely irrelevant when it comes to determining its durability. To get an idea on durability you’ll want to look at the Wear Layer which is usually depicted by mils. Wear Layers typically range from 6mils all the way to 30 mils. The scale for quality goes something like this:
    • 6-12 mil = Good
    • 12-20 mil = Better
    • 20-30 mil = Best

For most busy households with kids & pets we recommend a minimum of 12 mils.

  2. Embossed And Registered
Embossed and Registered is just a fancy industry term that tells us that the texture in the plank will closely match the grain, giving you the feel of real wood without all the stress that come with it.
